Manage currencies

You can manage currencies in LangShop, set custom exchange rates using Fixer API, which integrates directly into LangShop, change currency formatting, and delete currencies you no longer use in your online store.

Note

LangShop currencies are unavailable for stores with two or more Markets.

LangShop allows you to set custom exchange rates for additional currencies you display to international customers so they can see approximate prices for products you are selling online.

Steps:

From your LangShop admin, go to Settings > Currencies.

Choose currency.

Scroll down to Exchange rates section and set the rate.

You can also click on the arrows which are right next to the price field, to control the price of the currency.



Click Save.


NOTE
All currencies are equal to 1 US Dollar, even if your store currency is not a United States Dollar, the exchange rates always equal to USD.

If you click Grab new rates button, you can get the actual exchange rates for today’s currency forecast.


Change money formatting



When you are done with the exchange rates, you can set the currency formatting on the same page.

There is a list of all allowed currency formats you can apply for prices, and how you want them to display at your storefront.

Steps:

From your LangShop admin, go to Settings > Currencies.

Click on the currency you want change money formatting.

Choose the format from the list of allowed formats by copy-pasting it inside the figure braces `#{{ format }}` for the HTML with and without currency.



Click Save.


Deleting currencies



If you decide to stop selling, for example, in British Pound, you can remove the currency from your online store.

Steps:

From your LangShop admin, go to Settings > Currencies.

Select the currency you want to delete.

Scroll down to Delete button.



You can also check the box manually near the currency you want to delete. Click Actions > Delete.




NOTE

LangShop currencies are not available at the checkout page. There is no access for LangShop to enable a multi-currency checkout. Shopify Payments is an alternative solution in this case.

If your Online Store follows all the requirements to enable this functionality, LangShop switcher will be compatible with this feature. Plus, LangShop can automatically detect customers’ preferred currency based on a browser language or location.
