How to Use OpenAI (ChatGPT) Translation 😉

We are excited to announce that LangShop now supports OpenAI translation, in addition to Google Translate and DeepL.

How to get API key from OpenAI 💡

Log in to your OpenAI Account by following the link: https://platform.openai.com




Choose Settings => Limit => Check if your rate limit is from Tier 1 (gpt-4-turbo) and above, because we only support models (gpt-4-turbo) and above. If your current tier is the Free plan (gpt-3.5-turbo), which does not work with our app, please upgrade your rate limit to Tier 1 or higher.




Click on API Keys => Create a new secret key => Copy the key to enable it in LangShop.

How to enable API key in the app 🔑

Steps:

From your LangShop admin, go to Settings > General settings.



In the Translation Engines section, select OpenAI Translate. Here you can also set OpenAI Translate as a default translation engine.



Paste the API key from your OpenAI account.
Choose Chat GPT Model
Click Save

Note
There are particular sections in the LangShop app that may include various symbols as well as special characters ( (~,@,#, {{ }} etc). Such sections as:
Storefront Elements
Store Components
Notification Templates
MetaObjects

It’s recommended to use other translation engine options or edit them manually for better quality translations.
