Translate Shopify Metafields
Shopify provides the ability to add custom metafields to various objects such as products, orders, customers, etc. These metafields can contain specialized information that isn't natively captured by the Shopify admin, e.g. part numbers, color swatches, related products, etc.
LangShop can identify and translate Shopify metafields of single line text and multi-line text type. You can read more about metafields types here.

As metafields are the parts of its resources (products, collections, etc), they are translated together with the resource.
From your LangShop admin, go to Translations > Products.
LangShop can translate metafields also for product variants and collections.
Select products you want to translate metafields for and click the Translate button.
Select preferred translation engine, languages, decide whether to overwrite existing products.
In Advanced settings, you can decide sections that will participate in the translation process, including metafields.
Check Metafields and/or Variants Metafields.
Set the cursor on the appeared field and mark metafields you want to translate.
Note
If you haven’t created a list of metafields yet:
When you set the cursor on the appeared field, the scan of your 250 products is initiated to create a list of metafields for these products.
After the list is generated, it’ll appear in the suggestion dropdown, where you can select metafields for translation (the list is not saved).
In case, some metafields are missing (they belong to the products that haven’t been scanned), you can extract them on a special page and set them as translatable (in this case the list of extracted metafields is saved). For it, click the link in the hint below or follow this instruction.
Click the Translate button.
If you can't find the specific metafields that you want to translate in the suggestion dropdown or if you want to ensure that all required metafields will be translated, LangShop allows you to create a comprehensive list of them.
To generate this list, you need to enable LangShop to scan the resources (products, product variants, and collections) and extract all the available metafields for each resource.
Steps:
From your LangShop admin, go to Settings > Metafields.
Click Extract metafields next to the corresponding resources type and wait for the task to complete.
The system scans available products (or other resources) and generates a list of metafields. The process can take up to 30 minutes.
After the list has been created, open it.
Note
The list contains only metafields that can be translated with standard machine engines or pro translation engines (string, single line text or multi-line text types).
Select metafields you want to translate and click Set as Translatable button.
B_y default, all metafields have the status Untranslatable._
Return to products (collections) you want to translate metafields for.
Click the Translate button, select translation engines and languages.
In Advanced settings, check Metafields and/or Variants Metafields.
Set the cursor in the Product’s (Collection’s) metafields keys, the list of available translatable metafields will appear.
The list contains only metafields that have been set as Translatable.
Select metafields you want to translate.
Tap Translate.
In case a new metafield has been added to the resource type, you’ll need to relaunch extraction for the list of metafields so that you have an opportunity to translate it.
Steps:
In the Settings > Metafields, click the Relaunch extraction button next to the corresponding resource type.
Then open the list.
Select the newly added metafields you want to translate, and click the Set as Translatable button.
