Create custom content for a market

LangShop allows you to customize your translated content to better suit the linguistic and cultural nuances of each market you’re selling to. This means you can adjust vocabulary, spelling, and meaning of the content to reflect specific dialects and regional differences.

Use cases:

You sell to different countries that speak the same language but with their own dialect peculiarities. For example, for the US you may want to entitle the collection as “Pants”, while for the UK “Trousers” will be a more relative title.

You want to adapt your marketing materials to country-specific events or change messaging for different countries that are using the same language. For example, you can edit your product pages content to add information about the Independence Day offer for the US in July.

You should add some disclaimers or warnings to the content, because the country has specific legal requirements for websites. For example, in the European Union it is required to provide information about the product's risks, costs, and potential returns for certain types of investment.

Steps

From your LangShop admin, go to Translations > Products.

Choose the needed product for custom translation.

Note

Custom content translation is not available for bulk action.

From the dropdown menu, select a market you’d like to display customized content for.

Note

The 'All supported markets' option is a default translation that will be shown for all markets that do not have customized content. Essentially, it serves as a universal version of the translation that is available across all markets unless they have custom translation.

From the Language dropdown, select the language you’d like to display customized content for.

Note

Content can only be customized in languages that have been added to a market. If you select a language that isn't available for a chosen market, the system will automatically switch the market option to 'All supported markets'.

Insert your customized content into the right field.

For comfortable and productive usage, the default translation version is displayed in the left field.

Save changes.

This way you can create custom translation for any instance except for tags, images and dynamic texts.
