Translate store components (Theme locales)

LangShop translates locale (.json) files into multiple languages, including checkout and system messages. If your theme supports a multi-language feature, you can edit locale files in the theme editor directly. For the default language, you can edit files in the language editor too.

AI translation of store components

Steps:

From your LangShop admin, go to Translations > Store components.

Select a language you want to translate into.

Select store components you want to translate and click Translate.

Select Standard engine to auto translate store components.

The overwrite existing translations checkbox gives you the ability to translate texts again. Please note that this task will change your previous translations, and you can't recover this action.

Click Translate.

Please wait for the task to complete in the background server. The time depends on the amount of data and the number of languages you manage in your Shopify store.

Pro translate store components

Another method to translate store components is to use one of the pro translation engines.

Steps:

From your LangShop admin, go to Translations > Store components.

Select a language you want to translate into.

Select store components you want to translate and Tap Translate.

Choose a pro engine (Google Cloud Translation or DeepL Pro).
The overwrite existing translations checkbox gives you the ability to translate texts again. Please note that this task will change your previous translations, and you can't recover this action.

Click Translate.

Order store components translations

You can also order translations from TextMaster, the professional translation agency, where native speakers will be in charge of translating the store's content.

Steps:

From your LangShop admin, go to Translations > Store components.

Select store components.

Click More actions > Add agency translation.

Select a language to translate into.
Click Add to cart.

Complete your order in the cart section. If you want to translate a few items or recently added ones, you can select locales manually by checking the boxes and then choose the best translation method for your multilingual store.

Add custom translation for a market

With LangShop, you can also add custom translations for each market to reflect vocabulary, spelling, and meaning peculiarities of each dialect.

From your LangShop Admin, go to Translations > Store components.

Select a market and the language you want to add custom translations to.

Note

Content can only be customized in languages that have been added to a market. If you select a language that isn't available for a chosen market, the system will automatically switch the market option to 'All supported markets'.

Insert your customized content into the right field.

For comfortable and productive usage, the default translation version is displayed in the left field.

Save changes.
